Art Postcard Show
February 13, 2017

Mark your calendars for the 2nd annual “Art Postcards” event, with an Art Show & Sale on Feb. 13th, 2017.  The Art Postcards Show will feature original, postcard-size artworks by middle/high school students and community creatives. You don’t need to be an artist to submit to this show — just be willing to support MJHS!

All artwork is submitted anonymously, with the identity of the artist only revealed after the artwork is purchased.  A donation of $5 for students or $10 for adults gets you one ticket in exchange for one of the artworks. This year’s event will also feature a silent auction.  Join us Feb. 13th and support the art department!

For information on how to participate, follow this link.

SUCCESS! – Results from the 2016 MJHS Barnes & Noble Bookfair

Congratulations, Jaguar Family!  Thanks to your support and dedication, our December B&N Bookfair broke all previous records by bringing in $3097 in proceeds for our PTSA!

In addition to bringing in dollars for our school, we got to showcase and celebrate the awesome talent & experience our students bring to the community – including dance, theater, music, art, travel, and more. Thank you to all faculty, students, community partners and volunteers that gave time & energy to make this possible!

Special Thanks to this year’s PTSA Bookfair Planning Committee:

  • Lead Event Chair & Programming – Michelle Reid Moody
  • Co-Chair & PR – Julie Stoverink
  • Teacher Wish Lists – Alayna Blash
  • Cafe Pre-Sales – Kelly Dennis
  • Gift Wrapping – Lisa Roberson
  • Spirit Store – Alayna Blash & Shante Mosley

From our Proud Principal Stephanie Johnson upon learning the bookfair results:

“Wow! That is really awesome. Thanks PTSA!!! And thanks so much to Layne Wiggins and the Super Hero Team at Barnes & Noble for every effort making this event so prosperous for our dedicated PTSA and school.”

From the Edgewood Barnes & Noble General Manager & Proud MJHS Parent, Layne Wiggins:

“BIG thanks to all who poured their time, heart, and soul into this day. Your team has developed your bookfair into the model from which other schools can gain knowledge and success. For example, the team at Thomasville Heights, having seen the MJHS bookfair last Christmas and using the same approach and commitment as MJHS has both years, generated over $10K in sales for their first ever bookfair. I think it goes without saying what a tremendous impact such success will have on the team at THES. All of this is to say THANK YOU for being such a stellar community partner and leader. We’re grateful for all of you.”

Keep your eyes out for an announcement coming soon of our next Bookfair Date!
